If there is one thing you need to be prepared for when visiting the Disney World parks, it is knowing that you will be doing A LOT of walking. The average person can walk up to 10 miles in a day at the Disney World parks. Not only do your feet get a lot of miles, but for the most part of the year, the weather is really hot in Florida. Taking some time to rest and recharge is essential if you want to have a good time.
I am going to share with you some of my favourite places in all the Disney World parks for taking a break. Some of them will even be comfortable enough for you to close your eyes and take a quick cat nap 😉
Here are my top places in the Disney World parks to rest:
Carousel of Progress (Magic Kingdom)
This is one of my favourite underrated attractions at Magic Kingdom. It is an audio-animatronics show that takes you through time to discover how everyday living has changed for the average family. It begins at the start of the 20th Century and takes you right to present time.

It’s Tough to be a Bug (Animal Kingdom)
This is a 3D movie that explores the life of bugs. You’ll get a taste of what it is like to be a bug. It offers some educational information and there are a few 4D surprises along the way. Please note that it may be a bit scary for very young children as it is dark and a bit loud at times.
- Climate: Indoors/Air-Conditioned
- Seating: Semi-comfortable, wooden backed benches
- Length of Attraction: 8 minutes
Kawaii Exhibit (Epcot)
I really enjoy this area for resting because it is kind of hidden and doesn’t get a lot of traffic. It is an exhibit that celebrates the “Kawaii” culture of Japan. You will find it at the very back of the Japan pavilion. Kids will get a kick out of checking out the exhibit while parents can have a seat and rest.

Kidcot Fun Stops (Epcot)
Every country in the World Showcase has a Kidcot station. This is an area that allows kids to color and interact with some of the cast members from each country. Every Kidcot station is different, but most of them will have a seating area where parents can relax while their kids color/pin trade.
- Climate: Varies, some indoors and some outdoors. Will be in a shaded area if outdoors.
- Seating: Varies, some will have picnic tables, while others may have just a few benches.
- Length of Attraction: As long as you want to stay!
The American Adventure (Epcot)

- Length of Attraction: 7 minutes each way
Country Bear Jamboree (Magic Kingdom)
This is a musical show that features 18 hillbilly country bears singing some country/western tunes. The bears are audio-animatronics and the theater is quite the sight to see. This show does appeal to young children.

PeopleMover (Magic Kingdom)
This is a ride, but we always make sure to ride it several times when we feel we need a bit of time to relax. It is a monorail style ride that takes you on a tour through Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. You can even put your feet up on the seat facing you!
- Climate: Outdoors, but shaded and breezy
