Lots of news coming out of Disney World this week. Here is a summary of some of the most recent news I have seen:
Hall of Presidents Re-Opening
The Hall of Presidents has been closed for refurbishment all of 2017. It will re-open on Tuesday, December 19th. The refurbished attraction will feature newer technology and include a new audio animatronic Donald Trump. The new technology is said to make the animatronics look smoother and more lifelike.
A New Cirque du Soleil Show
“La Nouba” at Disney Springs will officially be ending on December 31st, 2017. Disney has now announced that they are working with Cirque du Soleil to develop a new show for Disney Springs. No opening date has been announced, but they have said the new show “will pay homage to Disney’s rich history of animation, with a vivid story told in a way that only Cirque du Soleil can deliver.”
Disney Springs Hotels Get Added Benefits
Beginning in 2018, several non-Disney hotel guests will get some of the privileges that only Disney guests previously had access to. Some of the Disney Springs hotels will be recognized as official Walt Disney World hotels. That means that they will be able to be booked through Disney’s website. Guests staying at those hotels with a valid theme park ticket can link all their information on My Disney Experience and then be able to book their fastpasses up to 60 days in advance. They will also get access to Extra Magic Hours at the parks. These are the hotels that will be offering these new perks:
- B Resort & Spa
- Best Western Lake Buena Vista Resort
- DoubleTree Guest Suites by Hilton Orlando
- Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Palace
- Hilton Orlando Resort Lake Buena Vista
- Holiday Inn Orlando
- Wyndham Lake Buena Vista
- Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista
- Four Seasons Resort Orlando
How do you feel about all these changes coming to Disney World? Excited or do some of the changes bother you?
