Toy Story Land is the new exciting addition to Hollywood Studios that everyone is waiting for in 2018. Are you excited to step in to this new land and see all that it has to offer? With so little rides at Hollywood Studios right now, this will be a great addition once it opens up on June 30th, 2018. I can’t wait!
Wondering what to expect? Well, let’s go through the details of what we know!
Theming of Andy’s Backyard
The concept behind Toy Story Land is that you are stepping in to Andy’s backyard and you will feel like you are the size of his toys. Andy has built a playground in his backyard for his toys and we are going to get to play in it! Everything will look like it was built by Andy, for example, rides will be built around theming of Tinkertoys and building blocks. It’s going to look really cool!
Two New Rides
We have two new rides to look forward to – Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers
Slinky Dog Dash is a family roller coaster and it will most likely become the most popular ride in the park. The full track is up and we have gotten a peek of what is to come, and this looks like it will be a really fun ride for all ages. There is a minimum height requirement of 38 inches. You’ll get to ride aboard Slinky Dog as he twists, turns and dips around the track. There doesn’t seem to be any major drops, so it looks like it will be on the mild side, which is great for the younger kids. All ages will be able to enjoy it.
Alien Swirling Saucers will be a spinning ride. Not too many details have been released yet about this ride, but it has definitely been described as a spinning ride. You’ll spin around in your vehicle as music is blasted and “The Claw” tries to catch you. Many have speculated that it will be modeled after Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree in Disneyland.
A New Quick-Service Restaurant
Woody’s Lunch Box is the new quick-service restaurant that will be in Toy Story Land. The theme of the restaurant is that Andy set it up with his lunch box using his thermos to prop up the front of it to make a restaurant. It’s going to offer some really delicious food too. This week the menu and prices were released. Here are just a few of the yummy items you’ll find at this new restaurant:
New Entrance For Toy Story Mania
During the last month of construction, they are going to be making changes to the entrance on Toy Story Mania to complete the new entrance that will be on the other side of the building. This will make it so that you will then enter the ride from inside Toy Story Land, instead of where it is currently located in Pixar Place. I’m not sure if that means that there will be new theming for the queue. The old queue is currently covered up, so they may be sprucing it up with some new theming, which would be exciting!
Characters “Playing” With Guests
It was revealed that characters would be playing with guests in the new land. It has not been confirmed, but there is wide speculation that it could mean that characters will be mingling throughout, rather than just having a set meet & greet location. Also, they will be adding Jessie to the mix along with Buzz and Woody.
I am SO EXCITED for Toy Story Land to open, it sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun. Personally, I can’t wait to try out Slinky Dog Dash. What are you most looking forward to in Toy Story Land? Leave me your comments below!
