How do you feel when you have come to the end of your Disney vacation? Do you get a bit sad when you need to head back to the airport or hit the road for that long drive home? Well, you are certainly not alone. This is a very common feeling for a lot of people that travel to Disney World. It’s the Disney Postpartum, or the Disney Blues. For many, their next trip to Disney World may not be for another year, or even several years. So, how do you deal with those feelings of sadness after you’ve spent all this time in the happiest place on earth?
Here are a few suggestions to help you overcome the Disney Blues:
Book Your Next Visit
Booking your next visit to Disney World is an easy way to get over the depression as it immediately refocuses your attention on the next Disney vacation. Planning can sometimes be just as fun, so it really helps to get you excited and build up anticipation for your next visit.
If you stayed at a Disney hotel, then make sure to check your hotel room before you check-out for a bounceback offer. A bounceback offer is a special promo that they offer to Disney guests that they can take advantage of before they check-out. This is a great way to secure a room discount or even a free dining promo for your next vacation. You will often find it in the hotel booklet in your room. Although it does say you need to book before you check-out, I have heard of guests being able to call back once they’ve arrived home and still take advantage of the offer. You just need to make sure you don’t wait too long though because I believe they will only offer it for about a week or two after you’ve been there. If you are sure you want to go back, then grab hold of that offer, it will only require you to give a $200 initial deposit.
Memory Maker Photos
Did you purchase Memory Maker for your vacation? If you did, now is the time to sift through all the photos and relive your magical vacation! You’ll get to look at all the fun magic shots you took and watch all your on-ride videos. I find the on-ride photos and videos capture some of the best memories. You get to see your faces and reactions while enjoying the magic of Disney.
You can also play around with the editing tools they provide with Memory Maker to decorate your photos. You will find tons of fun themed borders and stickers to add to any of your photos. Often they are themed to the park and/or ride it was taken on. The feature I love the most is the character signatures you can add in. It’s so lovely to have all of your character photos decorated with a cute border and their signature right there on the photo.
Depending on how many photos you took, it could take you awhile to go through them and edit them all to your liking. Just make sure to do it within 30 days of your vacation, otherwise your photos will expire and you will lose your chance to download them.
Create a Scrapbook
Once you’ve gone through all your vacation photos, now is the time to put them in to a lasting memory! Creating a scrapbook is a great way to preserve those memories. It also gives you a great momento that you can look through anytime you feel like reliving those great memories.
You don’t need to be a professional scrapbooker to put a scrapbook together. With some photos and cute decorations for your page, you’ll be all set! If you are looking for some Disney inspired materials, then I highly suggest taking a look at Scrapbook.com. They have a good selection of Disney products that I have used myself. I absolutely LOVE their cardstock stickers, which makes it so easy to decorate your photo pages.
If you would like to get a little more fancy, then you may want to look in to the Cricut line of products. They have several paper cutting machines, and you can pretty much create anything with them! Check out these super cute cut-outs you can make from their Disney line of cartridges:

One way to keep the Disney magic alive is to keep it coming to you! There are a few subscription box services that you can sign up for that will regularly deliver you a box of Disney goodies. If you are a Disney collector or just love getting Disney themed gifts, then this service is for you!

Recreate Your Disney Hotel Room at Home
Whenever you turn on your TV in a Disney hotel room, it always takes you to the same channel – the Disney Parks schedules. You get that constant loop of Disney tunes while it scrolls through the park info and tells you the day’s schedule. Did you know you can tune in to that channel at home? Nothing like turning that on in the background to make you feel like you are back at Disney. If you have a browser on your TV, then you can really get the full effect! Just visit www.wdwtodaychannel.com for a little extra Disney magic at home 🙂
