Rides, characters and entertainment are probably what first comes to mind when you think of Disney World, but the snacks should definitely be a close second. Disney has some pretty awesome snack choices and they have really upped their game in the last few years. It’s a place where I really like to indulge because some of these yummy treats you can’t get anymore else. I always find the best snacks at Disney World!
Satisfy your taste buds with these delicious snacks, here are some of my favourites!
Dole Whip
Arguably one of the most popular snacks at Disney World – the Dole Whip. It is a dairy free, soft serve pineapple dessert. You can get it just as a soft serve, or in a float. Some locations even serve it with rum! There is often a lineup at the locations that sell these, so make sure to check the Disney app to see if mobile ordering is an option.
Locations: Aloha Isle in Adventureland in Magic Kingdom, Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Africa in Animal Kingdom, Refreshment Port near Canada in Epcot, Pineapple Lanai at Disney’s Polynesian Resort
Mickey Beignets
I feel like I have died and gone to heaven when I eat these! They are soooo good, everyone must try these! Best of all, you can get them gluten free for anyone with allergies!
Location: Port Orleans French Quarter Resort
Cheshire Cat Tail
This treat is so fun looking, I knew I had to give it a try when I saw. I’m glad I did because now it is a must have for every Disney vacation. It is a flaky pastry filled with chocolate and drizzled with a sweet icing on top. It is very sweet, so it’s a good snack to share with a friend.
Location: Cheshire Cat Cafe next to Mad Tea Party ride in Magic Kingdom
Beaches n’ Cream Milkshake
As if the milkshakes aren’t enough of a reason to visit this place, the atmosphere is so cute and retro! It’s like taking a step back in time to a retro ice cream shoppe. They do also serve meals here, but the idea cream and milkshakes are the stars! You can either make a reservation here or go to their take-out window for walk-up. They also just recently finished a renovation here, so everything is brand new and double the size of what it used to be.
Location: Disney’s Beach Club Resort
Popcorn
Now the popcorn isn’t anything to write home about, but it does have a certain nostalgia to it. There is just something about walking around a theme park crunching on some popcorn. Disney also has some really fun themed popcorn buckets that you can purchase. When you purchase a popcorn bucket, you can then bring it with you in the parks and get refills for a small price.
Locations: Several popcorn stands in all 4 theme parks
Mickey Ice Cream Bar
This snack really hits the spot on a hot summer day. A refreshing ice cream treat sandwiched by two yummy chocolate cookies in the shape of Mickey. Nothing screams Disney World more than that!
Locations: Several quick-service snack carts in all 4 theme parks, at all the Disney resorts as well
Churros
If you haven’t had a churro, you are seriously missing out! It is a fried-dough pastry that is rolled in cinnamon sugar. I actually never had a churro until I tried on at Disney and now it is one of my must have snacks while on vacation. A bonus snack is that they even make churro ice cream sandwich at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments at Magic Kingdom.
Locations: Pecos Bill in Magic Kingdom, The Lunching Pad in Magic Kingdom, La Cantina de San Angel in Epcot, Some snack carts in Hollywood Studios
Cinnamon Roll at Gaston’s Tavern
This snack is most definitely meant to be shared. It is such a big portion, but oh so good! A warm cinnamon bun covered in sweet icing, you really are indulging when you bite in to this one!
Location: Gaston’s Tavern in Magic Kingdom
Mickey Pretzel
If you are in the mood for a salty treat, than a Mickey pretzel will definitely hit the spot. It is quite large, so can be shared or devoured all to yourself if you want a filling snack.
Locations: Several snack carts in all 4 theme parks
Night Blossom
I can’t visit Pandora without getting one of these! It is a cool, fruity tasting slushy drink, and it is filled with Boba balls. The Boba balls are so delicious and they just pop in your mouth. You can also get a version with rum called Rum Blossom.
Location: Pongu Pongu in Pandora at Animal Kingdom
Chocolate Cake
This one isn’t all that fancy, but it really hits the spot when you are looking to fill a chocolate craving. It is simply chocolate cake wth icing in a cup, with Mickey sprinkles. Nothing crazy, but crazy good!
Locations: Most quick-service locations as a dessert, most all quick-service Disney Resort locations.
Oga’s Obsession
This dessert/snack really does look like it came from space. It has a really interesting look and tastes just as interesting. It is a jello dessert with Boba balls, popping candy and cotton candy. It really is something you must try, even if it is just that one time. They also have an alcoholic version that you can order as well.
Location: Oga’s Cantina in Galaxy’s Edge
Kakigori
During the hotter months, I always find walking around World Showcase cakes you feel even hotter. For that reason, I often stop to get a Kakigori snack in Japan. It is a shaved ice dessert and it comes in many flavours – rainbow, strawberry, melon, cherry, tangerine or blue raspberry.
Location: Kabuki Cafe in Japan at Epcot
Mickey Rice Krispy Treats
Who can forget the classic Mickey rice krispy treat? You’ll find these at any of the bakeries in the parks or the Starbucks. If you go to the bakeries such as inside Big Top Souvenirs at Magic Kingdom, you will have some really over the top treats to choose from. In some locations, you can even choose what toppings you would like, from from chocolate to M&M’s to sprinkles and so much more….
Locations: The Confectionary in Magic Kingdom, Big Top Souvenirs in Magic Kingdom, Zuri’s Sweets Shop in Animal Kingdom, Goofy’s Candy Company at Disney Springs, any of the Starbucks locations
