Epcot’s World Showcase has so much to offer, but oftentimes people don’t realize it. Have you ever asked yourself what there is to see in World Showcase? I hear of a lot of people just walking past or quickly through the countries, often missing a cool attraction, character or special aspect of that pavilion. The World Showcase really is a place where you want to take your time to explore and enjoy it. Here are some of the hidden gems in Epcot’s World Showcase that you may want to look for the next time you are there.
Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure
If you are travelling with kids, then you will want to keep an eye out for this one. This adventure will take you on a scavenger hunt in one of the country’s pavilions. You sign up at a designated cart and they will provide you with a smartphone to start your adventure. You will be working with Perry the Platypus from Phineas & Ferb to stop the Evil Doofenschmirtz. The smartphone instructs you where to go and helps you look for clues to solve the adventure. This is available in several of the countries in World Showcase and each one is a different experience. Kids absolutely love this and I have to say – it’s fun for adults too! These are the countries where the adventures are available:
- Mexico
- China
- Germany
- Japan
- France
- United Kingdom
These adventures take anywhere from 30-45 minutes to complete. Just look for the cart below to sign up for one:
World Showcase Passport/Kidcot Stations
At any gift shop in Epcot, you can pick up a World Showcase passport. This is a fun activity for kids and will keep their attention as you travel from country to country. Every country has a Kidcot station, where your child can get their passport stamped. A cast member from that country will stamp it for them, write a message in it in their foreign language and you will have stickers to complete each page. It’s super cute and will give your child a nice keepsake to take home with them.
At the Kidcot Stations, you can also take a rest and have your child color their very own fanning toy. It will help to keep them cool as you continue your touring and provides them with a bit of distraction while you rest your feet 🙂

La Cava del Tequila
This gem is for the adults! You’ll find this tequila bar inside the Mexico pavilion. In there, you will get to try an array of drinks that all feature tequila. They have over 20 different menu items to choose from. If tequila is your thing, then you will want to pop in here to savour a nice drink and perhaps a quick bite to go along with it.
Anna & Elsa Meet and Greet
You’ll find these famous sisters in the Norway pavilion. It’s easy to miss if you are not looking for it, but it is the first buildings in to Norway, just as you pass Mexico. They meet inside the Royal Sommerhus. As you walk through the queue, you’ll get a peek in to Anna & Elsa’s summer home. It has some really cute details and the experience ends with meeting the sisters in person!

Royal Sommerhus
Pick-a-Pearl
In the Japan pavilion, they have a really cool experience right inside the Mitsukoshi store. At Pick-a-Pearl, you get to select your very own oyster and inside it contains a pearl. They do a really cute little celebration as they open up your oyster to see what kind of pearl you got. They really make it in to an experience as they beat on drums and an entire audience is watching as you receive your pearl.
The cost is $18, which will give you the pearl that you’ll receive from your oyster. You can then have the pearl set in a piece of jewelry. You can have it done at the Mitsukoshi store, but I have found some better priced ones on Amazon. This 925 Sterling Silver Pumpkin Carriage Pendant Necklace,18″ is perfect for fitting your pearl in!
Biergarten
This is a sit-down restaurant in the Germany pavilion, but it is so much more than that. I always find eating here such a great experience! The tables are set up for 8 people and if your party does not fill the table, they will seat you with another party. This gives you the opportunity to chat and meet new people as you dine. We have met a few nice families at this restaurant and it’s always nice to have some fresh conversation as you enjoy your meal.
You will also get to enjoy some live music as you dine. It will make you feel as if you are in Germany at an Oktoberfest celebration. You can even get up with your kids and family, and dance on the dance floor. It really is a lively atmosphere and a definite must-try!
Great Photopass Locations
I’m always amazed at how well-themed each pavilion is and the backgrounds make for some amazing photos. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the Photopass photgraphers. They have a lot of cool Magic Shots that are offered throughout the World Showcase, so take the time to stop and snap some photos with them.
If you have not purchased Memory Maker, then don’t fret! The photographers will take pictures for you if you give them your camera. You won’t get the Magic Shots, but you’ll still get a great family picture with a gorgeous background.

Jasmine & Aladdin Meet and Greet
In the back streets of Morocco, you’ll find a character meet and greet for Jasmine & Aladdin. It’s really easy to miss since they are tucked away in the back, but if you are in the know, then it will be easy to find. Just follow the streets towards the back, and you will come across the sign for Jasmine & Aladdin.
French Ice Cream Shop
Make sure to wander around the back streets of the France pavilion. Not only will you find an amazing bakery with delicious food, but right next door is L’Artisan des Glaces. On a hot day, you can enjoy one of their delicious flavours in a yummy waffle cone. Here are all the delicious flavours you can choose from:
- Caramel Fleur de Sel
- Cinnamon with Caramelized Pecan
- Chocolate
- Mint-Chocolate
- Milk Chocolate and Orange
- Mango Sorbet
- Strawberry Sorbet
- Coffee
- Cinnamon with Caramelized Apple and Crumble Crunch
- Coco-white Chocolate
- Vanilla
- Lemon Sorbet
- Mixed Berry Sorbet
America Gardens Theatre
Depending on the time of year, you will have the opportunity to catch some great live entertainment right across from the American pavilion. If you are there during one of the many festivals they hold throughout the year, then they usually have concert series during the evenings on this stage. Check the entertainment schedule to see who is performing. Some past acts that have performed on this stage include Boyz II Men, Hanson, Sugar Ray, Starship, The Guess Who, Billy Ocean, Kenny G and so many more!
Last year we were fortunate enough to catch American Music Machine, an acapella group. They are not performing there currently, but fingers crossed they bring them back:
I hope this post will inspire you to explore everything that the World Showcase has to offer. There is a lot to be found in the back streets and corners of the pavilions. What are some of your most favourite things to see and do in the World Showcase? Tell me in the comments below!
