One of my top tips for saving money at Disney World is by trying to cut down on your food budget. Using a Disney World grocery delivery service is a great insider tip to know about. Not only will it help to save you money on food, but it is super convenient and will save you time from having to do the grocery shopping yourself.
In this blog post, I have a few options listed below about how you can get groceries while on vacation, but I take a close look at the Disney World grocery delivery services. I use them on every single one of my trips. We use it mainly for breakfast items, snacks and bottled water. I don’t want to spend the time or money eating breakfast in the food court every morning, so having cereal and juice in our room is the best solution for us. It’s also super convenient to have a case of bottled water and then we can throw a fresh one in our bag every day.
Here is a breakdown of all the grocery options you’ll find when vacationing at Disney World:
Grocery Delivery Services
Having groceries delivered to your hotel is one of the most convenient services they have in Orlando! I just love that I can get everything I need and I don’t have to worry about how I am going to get it to the hotel. With the popularity of this service, there are quite a few options to choose from if you would like to order groceries. When you use these services, the groceries get delivered to Bell Services at your hotel. They accept them on your behalf and keep items well stored, they refrigerate perishable items. Once you arrive at your hotel, you just call down to Bell Services and they will bring your groceries right to your room. It’s important to note that Disney does charge a $5 fee for accepting deliveries on your behalf, so you may see that on your bill when you check-out.
Here are all the options of companies you can order from:
Garden Grocer
Garden Grocer is probably one of the most popular ones since it is so well known. The service is great and they have a very wide selection of items to choose from. It’s practically impossible not to find something you want on their website. The interface is also really easy to use.
The minimum order purchase is $40. There is a delivery fee of $14 for orders between $40 and $200. If you order over $200, then the delivery is free. Same day delivery is $30 and next day delivery is $20.
Purchasing in advance can get you some savings. Here are the discounts they provide if you order in advance:
- 60 days = 10% off
- 30 days = 7% off
- 15 days = 5% off
I’ve been very satisfied with the level of service I have received with Garden Grocer in the past. The selection on the website is always great and it’s so easy to use. They also have an iOS app that you can download and use to order from your smartphone. My only complaint is that I find the prices of items to be a bit high, along with the delivery service fee. I feel that items could be better priced, but they do make up for it with great service. Also, they only deliver to Disney World resorts, Wyndham Bonnet Creek and Wyndham Grand Orlando Bonnet Creek.
Instacart
Instacart is a service that allows you to order from local grocery stores. They have personal shoppers that will do the shopping for you at the store of your choice. They work with Publix, Costco, BJ’s, Whole Foods, and CVS Pharmacies. When you log on to their site, you will select which store you want to shop from. The thing I really like about their service is that the prices of the items are what you would pay in the store. You can even apply weekly coupons if you have any. They have a section on their website where you can look through the available coupons and apply them to your order.
Their delivery fees are quite reasonable. If you spend over $35, then the fee is $5.99. Orders under $35 have a $9.99 delivery fee. They also have an option for 1 hour delivery, which costs $7.99 for orders over $35 and $11.99 for orders under $35.
In general, I find I save money when using Instacart. The prices of items and the lower delivery fee save me on average about $20 for my regular order that I place when spending a week at Disney. If it is your first time using Instacart, then I have a referral link that you can use to get $10 off your first order —> REFERRAL LINK
WeGoShop
WeGoShop is a grocery delivery service that shops at local grocery stores. The store options are Publix, Trader Joe’s, Winn Dixie, Walmart, Sam’s Club and Whole Foods. There is no minimum order for using this service. Also, they do not have an online catalogue of items to choose from with prices. You provide them with your grocery list and they do the shopping for you trying to match exactly what you are asking for. Since you cannot shop the prices, you will not know the total of your order until after they do the shopping and deliver the items to you.
The delivery fees for this service are a bit more than the ones mentioned above. Here is their fee structure:
- Orders between $0-$100 = $26 service fee
- Orders between $100-$200 = $31 service fee
- Orders between $200-$300 = $41 service fee
- Orders over $300 = 14% of the receipt total
- $3 fuel surcharge added to every order
- $10 fee for same day service
They also have mobile apps for both iOS and Android.
Dizzy Dolphin
Dizzy Dolphin is a service that was created by DVC members and they specialize in delivering to Disney World resorts. You provide them with a list of groceries and then they itemize it and send you back your list with the prices of the items. Payment for your order is due 7 days prior to delivery.
There is a $50 minimum for orders and the delivery fee is $14 for orders up to $250. Anything over $250 and the delivery service fee is waived.
Amazon Prime Now
Amazon Prime Now is a service that is available exclusively to Amazon Prime members. The cost of this service is pretty good and they offer speedy delivery. The convenience is that you can order the day of and request 2 or 1 hour delivery. 2 hour delivery is free, but 1 hour delivery is $7.99.
The minimum order required is $20. The prices of items listed seem to be pretty competitive, as you would expect from Amazon. You can also add other non-grocery type items to your order if you’d like, which can be convenient if you need more than just food items. The only downside is that you have to be an Amazon Prime member.
Uber or Lyft
If you prefer to do your own grocery shopping to pick out your items, but do not have a rental car, Uber and Lyft are great alternatives. The abundance of Uber and Lyft drivers in the Lake Buena Vista area is vast and there will always be someone available to pick you up that is just a few minutes away.
The cost varies, as it will depend on where you want to go. Also, you will need to know exactly where you want to do your shopping. That can also be seen as a positive since you will be able to choose exactly where you go to shop.
Rental Car
If you have a rental car, then getting around to shop for groceries won’t be a problem. The only downside is that you have to take the time our of your vacation to do the shopping, which is why we usually prefer to take advantage of one of the grocery delivery services mentioned above.
If you do want to go and do your own groceries, here is a list of options close to Disney World property:

Walmart pick-up service is also another option is you have your own car. You just pre-order all your items online and then you show up to pick up your items. Usually you park, give them a call, and they bring it out to your car. This is a wonderful service as it will save you all the time you would of spent on shopping.
Grocery Items at Hotel Gift Shop
If you only need a few essential items, you may want to check your hotel gift shop. The Disney hotel gift shops usually have a small “grocery” area and will have some select items. They carry items like snacks, juice, milk, water, beer and wine.

If you have a rental car, you might just go to the grocery store yourself unless you want to save time. Even if you don t have a rental car, you might consider going yourself. Thanks to Uber, you can make a round-trip grocery run yourself for about $25-35 depending upon your Walt Disney World hotel, the store to which you go (see addresses below for closest location, and how long it takes you to shop.
